Tattoos and shoes... i like the sound of that. The day before I started my new job, my sister and I finally got our sister tattoos. It says Kawachi, and we both got it on our right wrist. My cousin Darin did it for us! Thank's Darin! The biggest debate over the tattoo, was which way should I have the Kanji facing, outward going down toward my fingers or facing me. We decided to have it face us because well it's for us and when I do peace peace, it's not upside down (and I do peace, peace, A LOT). Haha.
And those shoes are my latest and greatest finds from Nordstrom Rack. Jeffery Campbell and Seychelles, together under $70. Damn I love you Nordstrom Rack.
This weekend I'm off to visit Mike in Lanai. It will be my first time visiting the Pineapple Isle, I'm a little excited and a little scared. Excited because hello it's my first time and scared because let's face I'm a city girl, I hope I'm not bored to death there (especially when Mike is at work). Hopefully I'll get to go on some mini field trips and take tons of photos.
P.S. I still miss Maui!

Went to Gavvy's art show last friday at Ong King! Yay for Gavvy, he had three pieces in the show. The first photo is courtesy of Photo Ops Hawaii who was photographing the event. His cat painting was my favorite! Me and Priya want Gav to paint something on her bedroom/living room wall, maybe we can hire him before he gets super famous. I remember when we went to one of his art shows at UH, Ala, Malia and I made "I love Gavin" t-shirts. Since this art show was in a downtown art space, we didn't think it was appropriate to bust them out again.
Congrats to Gavin! Hope to see more of your art all over town!

That's my cousin Dylan! Can you tell that we are related? He's a quarter Japanese if you couldn't tell from his blonde hair. He's the first great grandchild on the Kawachi side, so move over Kelly, Dylan is the "baby" of the family now! (my sister is the youngest grandchild, five years younger than me and Greg and EVERYONE just adored her when she was little). Anyway back to Dylan... Jami and Dylan were in town to help my Auntie Dee-Dee and Uncle Dick pack for the move to California. They took a break so we could all take a field trip to the zoo (one of my favorite places). Dylan is the coolest kid around, everytime we would see an animal's butt he would just bust out laughing like it was funniest thing in the world. Kid's are a trip! We got to see the tigers, giraffes, and a rhinoceros take a crap. Sad story though, the keiki zoo was closed. That's one of my favorite parts of the zoo!! I love it when Jami visits, hopefully we will be able to visit her in Cali in October... DISNEYLAND here we commmmme!

We dog-sat Priya's bosses dog this past week. Her name is Eririn (almost like Aerowyn from Lord of the Rings). At first I didn't really think she was all that cute (sorry Priya's boss), but after a week she definitely won my heart. We were pretty lucky, she was pretty mellow most of the time. No loud barking or crying, she was definitely spoiled with belly rubs, games of fetch, long walks, and field trips to the beach.
Priya's boss picked her up last week, although apart me is relieved that she is no longer our responsibility, it was kind of nice having someone to take care of. Don't get me wrong, it was hard work and dogs definitely need a LOT of attention and time (that I don't have right now). But it would be nice to have someone to come home to!

The Office will not be the same with out Michael Scott, the world's best boss. Steve Carrell's contract is up a the end of next season, and he is definitely NOT coming back. Will the show be just as funny? I don't know. Will I still tune in? Of course, I still love PB&J (Pam Beasley and Jim Halpert). Maybe they'll bring in Ricky Gervais!

I love SUMMER! I always feel like I'm able to do a million things during this time of year! A few weeks ago, Mike came to visit. Some days I just need to get out of town, so we headed to North Shore, for a relaxing day at our beach. I'm not sure what this beach is called, my friend Erin introduced me to it awhile back. Mike and I like because it's not crowded like Waimea or Haleiwa.
On this day the sky was clear and the sun was blazing! Perfect beach weather! There was a lot of turtles on and off shore. We caught this guy lying on the shore break.
This is what I love about my island, town and country is only 45 min. (without traffic) away! If I ever move this is probably what I'll miss the most, the convenience of having EVERYTHING (well everything that I enjoy doing) at my fingertips, so easily accessible.
OH summer I wish you could last forever.
Summer Loves (in no particular order):
tan lines. dog sitting. time off. re-watching Friends on dvd. catching up on movies. home cooked meals made by my sister. birthdays. night outs. blogging. photog-ing. happy hours. shopping and big sales. boat trips. closet cleaning. zumba classes. runs around the park. bicycle trips. long days.
this is the last of my Canada pics, I got so bored of posting them haha. I promise more interesting blogs to follow! Not too mention that I figured out how to make my photos x-large! Without the help of wayne too!
Has everyone been keeping up with world cup soccer? I kinda have, always cheering for Landon Donovan and team USA! But unfortunately they loss and my two back up teams (Portugal and Japan) also loss. I don't know who to cheer for anymore. Back to watching baseball I guess!
Off to another interview tomorrow! I'm still wandering around trying to figure out what I'd like to do with my life. Just another quarterlife crisis. I'm really considering joining WWOOF, an organization that puts you in contact with organic farms and businesses, I'd like to work in Japan with some of the organizations there! We will see.
