End of a freakin decade!

This morning I thought, "Where did the year go?" and then tonight while watching SportsCenter, I noticed they were showing clips of not just 2009. Some of the highlights included MJ retiring AGAIN, Lance Armstrong, Derek Jeter's little shuffle pass to out Jason Giambi at home, Curt Schilling and his bloody ankles in Game 6 of the '04 ALCS, Steroid confessions, Serena yelling at line officials, and my favorite Terrell Owens crying at a press conference stating "...that's my quarterback." Then it hit me, it's not just a year that is over, another decade has passed.

In ten years, I have gone from a dorky high schooler to a college student to a still dorky twenty-something trying survive the real world full of lay offs, pay cuts, in amidst of a crappy recession. I've experienced shitty classes, dating assholes, hangovers, losing people I love, all of which has made me a stronger and smarter person. I've made and kept the best friends and reconnected with family. Best of all I've found Mike!

If you know me, I always say "The year I turned 21 was the best year EVER!" Now when I look back, the 2000s was pretty much the best decade ever. I can't wait to see what's in store for me in the years to come!

My sister and I finally got around to going to the purikura place at Century Center. We absolutely LOVE purikura, we spent close $40 in Japan taking these pictures! haha. It's a little pricey, $6-$8 a sesh, but for us it's SO worth it. Next time Mike comes to visit I'm making him take Purikura with me!

Congratulations to Officer Michael Bocon II (my bf)! He's officially a maui county police officer. Pretty cool. That picture is of him giving out awards to his instructors. He won 2 awards (one for academic and one for shooting, or whatever it is called).

100th

Apparently this is my 100th post. I feel like I should write about something really exceptional, you know like when t.v. shows do their 100th episode. Case in point, Friends "The One Hundredth," was when Pheebs gave birth to triplets.

But right now I have nothing really interesting to say, so I'll just talk about Halloween. I'm dressing up as Supergirl this year. I'm SUPER excited (no pun intended). I had a Superman cape and a red skirt already. And I originally was just going to use a blue wife beater and draw the Superman logo, but I found a costume tee at Hot Topic. But, because Halloween means less is more, I cut it up to make it a racer back tank. Yesterday I bought red Vans Authentics, because I vow never to wear heels again walking for long periods in Waikiki. So now all I need is red knee socks (which btw American Apparel did NOT have, wtf) to complete my outfit. I really wanted everyone to have a superhero theme, preferably Justice League. But apparently none of my girl friends know who is the Justice League is. Gosh only the best of the best of DC Superheroes. Whatev, I'm sure Halloween will still be a blast.

Productive Day

Day off today...

-Woke up at 9.

-Did 2 loads of laundry at home.

-Cleaned my room.

-Took my laundry to dry at Manoa Marketplace.

-Did some grocery shopping. (picked up some produce at the Farmer's Market, they have there).

-Ate a chicken salad sandwich.

-Went into work for a couple of hours to input HS football games into online database. Yay for extra money.

-Watching Yankees-Angels Game 4. Go Angels.

Dec. 6

I'm at red ginger cafe waiting for my chicken salad sandwich, reading The Hidden World of Birthdays. It says I should go into the entertainment business, or own a restaurant. My guardian angel is Michael (ha go figure) "who is like God." My astral color is red- passion, power, excitement, and strength. Green is my power color for overcoming obstacles. It says my favorable foods are horseradish, apples, rice, pecans and fish. Weird how some of these things are true!

New reads

Went to the mall today to find new bikini bottoms, decided to get some new reads instead. I found a lonely planet tokyo guide. Mike and I are planning a big trip next october or november, tokyo is at the top of our list! It's never too early to start planning. And I after hearing great things I decided to try "Naturally Thin" by Real Housewife Bethanny Frankel. Actually I didn't really hear great things, but I did notice @lobosworth was reading it on twitter!

I got a coupon for the gap, 25% off your entire purchase this weekend. I'm in love with their always skinny 1969 jeans, so I was happy with the thought getting another pair with my coupon. I knew I would be in maui this weekend, but I figured who doesn't have a gap these days right?!? WRONG apparently queen kaahumanu mall doesn't have one! There is only one in wailea. I was shocked, we have one at every mall on oahu! I guess I'm a little spoiled back home, where everything (well most things) are at my fingertips. Point for oahu!

Gone too soon. His music, style, and performances influenced us all and provided a soundtrack to our lives. Everyone has a Michael Jackson story, whether it be watching Thriller for the first time, doing (or attempting to try) the moonwalk, the sparkly glove. For me, I have many... being frightened watching Thriller (i swear the video scared me until I was in 4th grade), listening to "The Way You Make Me Feel" in one of my dad's car show cars bass turned up high, doing the J5 dance, playing the Moonwalker video game on Sega Genisis (one of my sister and I's FAVORITE sega games of all time), Wayne's horrible Michael Jackson impressions, and singing "Man in the Mirror" everyTIME at karaoke (it's my signature song...solo). Despite his unfortunate legal issues near the end, I always carried a little hope that things would turn around and he would have this great comeback. Rest in peace.

The Monster(ous Mess) in My Closet

This is photo of my closet, my main one (the other one has my jackets, shoes, and accessories). I always feel like it's a complete mess, and I need to clean it out. But really I need to stop shopping. Right now I have the incredible urge to throw out some jeans and buy more shorts. I think I need an off site storage to stow away the fall/winter stuff, I seriously only wear one pair of jeans a week and that's only when I work at the paper. I'm going to vegas in a month and a half, I'm going try and not buy anymore clothes til then. And if I do buy clothes it can only be from my store. Pray for me and my shopping addiction!
