That's it I'm calling it... 2010 was the year of the breakup. Sure there have been some major get togethers, a handful of new relationships, engagements, and marriages (congrats to all). But this year more long term couples I knew (myself included), you know the ones that you would never think to break up, the ones headed on THAT path, broke up unexpectedly. Not too mention some of my favorite celeb couples - Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens (Zac call me), Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush, David Arquette and Courtney Cox, Finn Hudson and Rachel Berry (ok they are purely fictional but I rooted all season I for them to get together only to have them break up earlier this month), they all called it quits. What was it about 2010? Just an unlucky year for love. Maybe all this happened so that 2011 will be a year of finding yourself again, a year of new beginnings, maybe finding love again.
So far singledom has been fun, reconnecting with family and friends, getting back to me. There are times where I think why me? But I believe everything happens for a reason. And Mike just wasn't my lobster. The real scary thing is starting all over again. I had my life planned with him in mind, now I have a blank, clean slate. What to do with it, I just don't know at the moment.
I also keep having this reoccuring dream, well not the whole dream, just this one part seems to be repeating itself. I'm in UpCountry Maui and there is a fork in the road, I'm on Old Haleakala Hwy. to be exact, right where it meets King Kekaulike High School. If I go left I hit Haleakala Hwy. and head up to Haleakala. If I go right I hit Kula Hwy. and head for the lavender farm. Both places I love to visit. It's ridiculous how vivid it is, I can actually see the road. I never pick which way I want to go though, I just stand there looking at both. In the beginning I thought it was because I haven't been to Maui in awhile and prior to breaking up I kept asking Mike to take me to Haleakala, so I was just doing some wishful dreaming. But since this scene has been in different dreams I decided to look it up. Here's what I got:
-Fork in the road- I have a big decision to make.
-Mountains- well they didn't have Haleakala specifically so I looked up mountains. It signifies major obstacles and challenges that I have to overcome, higher realm of consciousness, knowledge, and spiritual truth.
-Lavender- indicates mysticism and spiritual cleansing.
I'm not sure what to make of all this. I guess I'll have to keep sleeping on it.
